Bake Lakes

Bake Lakes is set amongst 30 acres of rolling Cornish countryside, providing anglers with sport on 8 coarse angling lakes as well as a “fly only” trout fishery. Great for pleasure anglers and families alike, with food provided on site as well.

Situated just off the main A38 road between Saltash and Liskeard.

Porth Reservoir

A nationally known match water where anglers often achieve bags of 50lbs made up of Bream, Skimmers, Perch and Roach. However Porth is not just a match water and offers the specimen carp angler a change at a Cornish 30, with additional stockings of fish in 2013 and 2014 this is a venue that is set to go from strength to strength. Open all year round and 24hrs a day Porth operates a self service permit system.

Argal Resevoir

Primarily a big carp water with Carp to 38lb Argal offers tough but rewarding fishing for those willing to put in the effort. Bream anglers can also enjoy good sport with large hauls possible especially in certain areas at the right time of year. Like many South West Lake trust waters the lake has received a recent stocking of 90 carp over the last few years which will hopefully start to pack on the weight. Like Porth, Argal is open 24hrs a day with a self service permit system in operation, the postcode for Argal is TR13 9PD.

Milemead Fisheries

Situated near to Tavistock and just over the border into Devon, milemead fisheries offers fishing on five coarse lakes.
• Specimen Carp Lake for the experienced Carp angler exclusively stocked with quality Carp currently to 30 lbs +. No under 16’s are allowed on this lake.
• Carp Lake stocked with eleven coarse species. Ghost, Common and Mirror Carp to 20 lbs are the main species with a good head of small Bream and bonus Tench, together with some of the biggest Roach in Devon with a current record of 2 lb – 10 oz’s.
• Coarse Match Lake with Carp to 10 lb, Bream and Tench to 4 lbs, as well as Rudd, Roach, Crucians, Gudgeon, Barbel and Chub. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an Adult. Maximum size 12 hook allowed. No floating surface baits allowed on this Lake.
• The 2 smaller Coarse waters are the Canal and Canal Basin which are linked together allowing the fish stock to move freely between the two waters. Keepnets are allowed on both stretches.Maximum size 12 hook applies to both waters to ensure that the fish remain in good condition.
• The smaller Canal stretch provides fun fishing for Roach, Rudd, Bream, Crucians, Gudgeon, Tench, Golden Tench, F1’s and small Carp to 3 lbs.
• The Canal Basin shares the same fish stock as the Canal and is a pleasure and mini match water so ideal for informal matches. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an Adult
The Lakes are Open to Anglers from 7 am until dusk. Please read the individual fishery Rules located on each lake before fishing as they vary from lake to lake. No unaccompanied under 12’s are allowed on the Fishery. Tackle hire is available throughout the year. The Fishery has a well stocked shop selling bait, snacks and most of the items that you left at home. Anglers who arrive before our shop opens are welcome to carry on and start fishing but kindly requested to come back and pay for their permit when the shop opens at 9 am. Anglers who arrive after this time should purchase a permit prior to fishing. Please note that limited availability night fishing is only allowed on the Specimen Carp Lake and must be pre-booked in advance.

Has been described as the premier Cornish stocked brown trout fishery, offering traditional fly fishing on bodmin moor. With the season running from 15th March until 12th October. Permits are available online via the South West Lakes Trust website or locally at the Jamaica Inn and Colliford Tavern, season permit options are available as well.

Siblyback Lake

A very popular trout fishery up on Bodmin Moor, stocked with rainbows up to 8lb, there is a small fleet of boat including a wheelyboat for disabled anglers, booking of the boats is advisable. Anglers tend to average around three fish per day and permits are available from the outdoor centre at the lake or if out of hours using the self service machine.
